Here at camp Elk, we’re all good and proper and have got some sterling news: you can now download your own little piece of Elk!

Reading Habits EP

Yup, we’ve released a bit of a demo-ey, EP-ey, three song-ey kind of thing. We’re going to be releasing it as a lovely CD that you can carry in your breast pocket to impress the opposite sex eventually, but as we’re a modern old bunch, you can actually download it right now.

And all three songs are free!

I was actually at a dinner party just last night when I overhead two idiots talking about it: “Oh, recently? Well, I’ve been listening to the new Elk. Oh, you haven’t heard of them? Beatrice, where have you beeeen darling? It’s, you know, pop music for intelligent people? But’s it’s still got a real kind of, you know, a like rock edge, which, like, makes it alternative and cool. It’s, like, totally Alan Bennett riding a Harley Davidson to the cinema to see the latest Jason Schwartzman.”

Naturally I twatted the pair of them, downed all the Glenfiddich, pissed in the avacado dip and got my ass out of there. But still, it gives you some idea of the sound.

Saying that, thanks to the wonder of the InterMcSocialMediaWeb, you can actually listen to each of the three tracks before you download them.

Anyway, the three songs were all recorded, produced and mastered by our wonderful friend Karl (of A Middle Sex) and sound rather grand. I guess you can say they’re a teaser of what’s to come. Since recording these we’ve been writing more and more new stuff and are aiming to have a full record out early in the new year.
